POSITION SUMMARY

The National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA) seeks a highly motivated, self-starter to join its team as a Certification and Credentialing Specialist.

The National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA) is the only national, nonprofit association with a primary focus on information dissemination, professional development, and legislative and regulatory analysis related to federal student aid programs authorized under Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended. Our membership consists of more than 29,000 financial aid professionals at nearly 3,000 colleges, universities, and career schools across the country. NASFAA member institutions serve nine out of every 10 undergraduates in the United States.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide operational and project support in the administration, entry, collection, review, and reporting of information relevant to NASFAA’s certification and credentialing testing products and programs.
    • Assist with constructing, maintaining, and revising assessments in the certification and credential Testing Center (Meazure/Yardstick)
    • Assist with maintenance of program records (Egnyte) and project management tools (Asana)
    • Serve as primary liaison with external vendors for testing, certificates, and digital badges.
  • Maintain proficiency with the technology associated with NASFAA’s products, office procedures, and communication practices.
    • Coordinate with NASFAA’s information technology and membership teams to ensure accurate data management, application processing, and registration set-up (CMS and iMIS)
    • Maintain strong working knowledge of iMIS and its relationship to Meazure/Yardstick
    • Implement changes to program web pages and online resources.
    • Assist with maintaining documentation and/or training materials on the use of the testing center and related products and resources.
  • Extract data and create regular reports on assessment outcomes, item analysis, data security, survey results, and other statistical data and analysis via dashboards and other vehicles.
    • Record, review, and document credential and certification testing analytics on monthly dashboard (iMIS, Crystal Reports, Google Suite, Excel)
    • Generate and monitor standardized communication to candidates and certificants.
    • Monitor reports and notify appropriate team members of potential issues.
  • Provide excellent customer service, including monitoring designated email accounts, instant messaging platforms, and phone calls, and ensuring timely and accurate responses to inquiries.
    • Review certification applications and credential “experience pathway” resumes promptly and notify appropriate team members regarding eligibility questions or concerns.
    • Review recertification activity submissions promptly and notify appropriate team members regarding exceptions or precedents.
    • Update the online certification Registry and credential Honor Rolls on a weekly basis.
  • Assist with certification exam preparation workshop development and deployment.

Other Responsibilities

  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and standards for credentialing through articles and online resources, attendance of conferences, webinars, and additional training opportunities
  • Assist with marketing and communications for promotions as needed.
  • Assist the program staff liaisons of the CFAA Program Commission as needed.
  • Attend NASFAA conferences and assist with the NASFAA Booth as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

Required Skills

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3 years of relevant experience (internship experience considered)
  • Experience in database administration and project management.
  • Customer service experience supporting internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent critical thinking, communication, and operational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and priorities at once, especially in a remote/teleworking environment.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and adapt to change.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with certification management systems and project management tools
  • Familiarity with Zoom and instant messaging platforms, as well as Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace products
  • Experience working in higher education administration and student services.

TO APPLY

This is a full-time, exempt position. The salary range is $60,000 - $65,000. NASFAA offers excellent benefits including 100% paid health insurance premium for the employee and partially covered dependent coverage, and a contributory retirement savings plan.
