In the book titled, “Reexamining the Federal Role in Higher Education: Politics and Policymaking in the Postsecondary Sector,” author Rebecca S. Natow delivers a primer on how higher education policy is formed in this country, from the history of the federal footprint on higher education, to the specific responsibilities of different players and how today’s political environment impacts postsecondary education. In the following book review, David Sheridan, director of financial aid emeritus at Columbia University's School of International Public Affairs, shares his opinions of its content. What follows are his takeaways, thoughts, and reflections.

NASFAA UPDATES AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

Citizens of the Freely Associated States—the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, and the Republic of Palau—are all eligible for the Federal Pell Grant, but not Title IV loans. In addition to the Pell Grant, citizens of the Republic of Palau are also eligible for Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) and Federal Work-Study (FWS) funds.
