With over 25 years of experience in financial aid, Sharon brings a wealth of knowledge to chair the Presidential Search Committee. A former SASFAA and NCASFAA president with experience presenting at national, regional, and state conferences, Sharon is well-versed in student aid policy, as well as the skills and characteristics needed in leadership positions. During her career, Sharon has served in roles at both private nonprofit and public four-year historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs), with responsibilities spanning accounting, financial aid administration, enrollment management, and more.

Amy's financial aid experience spans both university and community college settings, as well as a state-wide system, providing her a perspective to understand the unique challenges and opportunities faced by different types of institutions, which is crucial when evaluating candidates for a presidential role. Additionally, Amy's involvement with search committees has been both extensive and varied, spanning multiple roles and institutions. She has participated in searches for chancellors, administrative roles, and key staff members, gaining insight into the nuances of each type of hiring process and sharpening her skills in evaluating candidates objectively, asking probing yet fair questions, and collaborating with colleagues to reach consensus. 

Heidi CarlHeidi Carl

Heidi has chaired and served on multiple search committees, most recently on the search committee to hire Purdue's vice provost of enrollment management. In nearly three decades working in financial aid and admissions, Heidi has served at both private and public institutions, and in offices of all sizes. These experiences have given Heidi knowledge of the entire enrollment management profession, an understanding of the needs of different types of institutions, and insight into the type of leader NASFAA needs moving forward.

Throughout her career, Amanda has served on and chaired numerous search committees, ranging from student employees to advisors, and up to directors and associate vice presidents. Through those experiences, Amanda has learned to parse out skills or abilities that candidates may not state explicitly in a resume, look for transferable skills, and ask questions to dig deeper into a candidate's experience and character. Amanda's financial aid background is varied, having worked at large, public four-year universities, graduate and professional programs, small community colleges, minority-serving institutions, and research institutions.

Alex DeLonisAlex DeLonis

Alex has wide-ranging experience in running and participating in search committees, from those to hire his own staff, to vice president and director level searches for other departments. He has also worked at five different institutions that hired new presidents during his tenure, lending him the perspective of how impactful a presidential search process can be. Throughout his career, Alex has worked for three community colleges and two private colleges — one a small, rural, all-male school and the other a large, urban Catholic Jesuit school — across three different states.

Sarah has served on dozens of search committees on her campus, most recently leading a search for a director of financial aid, and has completed two search-committee trainings to help ensure prospective candidates have a positive experience, maintain confidentiality, and reduce bias in the hiring process. Sarah's financial aid experience spans multiple sectors, serving at both a community college and a private nonprofit institution, and her academic work studying leadership has provided her with valuable insights into what makes for effective and inspiring leadership. She has also provided consulting services to over 30 colleges of many sizes and institutional dynamics. These experiences allow her to bring a strategic, inclusive, and forward-thinking perspective to the search process, helping the committee find a leader who aligns with NASFAA's mission and has a strong vision for the future.
