NEWS FROM NASFAA

NASFAA’s Advocacy Pipeline is an ongoing advocacy effort designed to bring NASFAA members to Washington, D.C. to share on-the-ground perspectives with policymakers. After meeting with their senators and representatives, participants write short reflections about their experiences. As NASFAA continues to advocate for the financial aid community, both in-person and virtually, we want to highlight why Advocacy Pipeline participants think you should also participate in this important initiative.

NASFAA UPDATES AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

Are you interested in advocating for student aid issues in your state? Volunteer to join NASFAA's State Advocacy Network! The network, which meets virtually on a bimonthly basis, will provide a forum for state and regional leaders who follow state financial aid legislation and coordinate state-level advocacy efforts to share best practices related to communication with state lawmakers, student engagement, and advocacy campaigns. If interested, please apply to volunteer no later than 5:00 p.m. ET on Friday, September 20, 2024.

Blue Icon Advisors' upcoming Let's Talk session, tomorrow, September 19, will discuss data sharing and how you ensure compliance with access to the FAFSA and FTI data you manage. Check the schedule for additional upcoming topics and be sure to register for this upcoming session.

Are you up to date on the latest updates on Ability to Benefit (ATB)? Unsure which U.S. noncitizen categories are eligible for Title IV aid and the documentation requirements? Need clarity on resolving issues related to loan limits and overborrowing? Join NASFAA’s Norma Robinson, today at 2 p.m. ET, who will address these questions and more, focusing on the intricacies of student eligibility. Reserve your seat today.
