In a letter to NASFAA members, Dr. Sharon Oliver, the Chair of NASFAA's Presidential Search Committee, is pleased to provide an update on the progress of our search for NASFAA’s next President and CEO. It depends on the state. A certificate of live birth (or delayed certificate of birth) and a birth certificate, while interchangeable in many states, are not always the same thing depending on the state. In some states, a certificate of live birth or delayed certificate of birth cannot be used as proof of citizenship to receive a U.S. Passport, for example.
