NEWS FROM NASFAA

On Monday NASFAA submitted to the Department of Education (ED) its response to the department's request for comments on its Master Promissory Note (MPN) form. NASFAA focused largely on the request to update the name of the form with terms that are more easily understood by borrowers as well as align with the term used for other paperwork that outlines a borrower's agreement to repay their loans.

NASFAA UPDATES AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

Each year, NASFAA presents awards to deserving members of the financial aid profession and higher education community. Let's take a moment to congratulate the winners of the 2024 Allan W. Purdy Distinguished Service Award, which is one of the highest awards that NASFAA bestows and may be awarded either for significant contributions in the furtherance of NASFAA's goals over a sustained period of time, or for a single contribution of such momentous importance as to deserve the award. Congratulations to Helen Faith, director of student financial aid at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and NASFAA’s 2023-24 National Chair, and James A. White, of Jim White Consulting. Take a look back at past recipients of the Allan W. Purdy Distinguished Service Award, and see all of the 2024 award recipients.

Blue Icon Advisors' upcoming Let's Talk session, on Thursday, August 15, will discuss how you are navigating the various ISIR challenges. Check the schedule for additional upcoming topics and be sure to register for this upcoming session.
