NEWS FROM NASFAA

A pair of higher education-related amendments, concerning short-term Pell Grants and foreign gift reporting, have been removed from a defense bill that is being taken up by the House floor this week.

NASFAA UPDATES AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

Providing students and families with clear and accurate financial aid offers has never been more important — especially in a year when there’s less time for students to make a decision on college enrollment. Stop by the NASFAA booth in Milwaukee next week to learn more about the College Cost Transparency Initiative (CCT), a national movement of institutions committing to use a common set of principles and standards that ensure transparency, clarity, and understanding around communicating student financial aid offers. Plus, we’ll be giving away three complimentary registrations to NASFAA 2025 in Anaheim to CCT partner institutions. Make sure to submit your commitment before August 31 for a chance to win!

At this year's NASFAA Virtual Conference, attendees will have the opportunity to train for NASFAA's Need Analysis Professional Credential. In this credential training, the NASFAA U team will discuss need analysis with the implementation of the Student Aid Index (SAI) and the calculation of an applicant's SAI. This session will also include a lesson on institutional methodology. Completion of this live, online training qualifies participants to take the corresponding NASFAA Professional Credential test at no additional cost. Review the full schedule for the NASFAA 2024 Virtual Conference and register today!
