Your partners at the U.S. Department of Education want to hear from you. In cooperation with the Department of Education, NASFAA is polling members regularly on when your institution plans to send financial aid offers to students and what your disbursement timing may be. Take this short survey by tomorrow, Wednesday, April 24, at 12:00 p.m. ET, to help inform plans for continued improvement with the Better FAFSA rollout. Please note: Some of these questions are the same questions from the survey NASFAA facilitated last week. We ask that you still consider to participate in this survey in full, even if your answers have not changed.
On Monday NASFAA submitted to the Department of Education (ED) its comments on ED’s proposed Gainful Employment (GE) and Financial Value Transparency institutional reporting requirements. NASFAA expressed concern that ED’s recently announced 2-month reporting delay is insufficient because of the significant and ongoing issues with the FAFSA. NASFAA also provided several technical comments and suggestions.
We are deeply grateful for the significant impact our current and past NASFAA volunteers have had on our association as a whole. To celebrate 2024 National Volunteer Week, if you are a current or past NASFAA volunteer, you can download and print your certificate(s) by logging in to myNASFAA, navigating to the transactions and involvement tab, and scrolling down to the Past Volunteer Roles section.
Next month NASFAA's annual Business Meeting will be conducted virtually at 2:00 p.m. ET on May 22, 2024 as part of the Policy Update Webinar. NASFAA's Bylaws dictate that the association must meet annually for the purpose of transacting all business which may be brought before the membership. The meeting will include reports on NASFAA's financial status, FAAC® program, governance and oversight, and diversity efforts.
