NASFAA's weekly policy podcast, "Off The Cuff," reached tens of thousands of listeners in 2023, keeping members up to date on all things related to financial aid and higher education amid a busy year full of changes and challenges. Federal Student Aid (FSA) shared in a notice published on Monday that it has finalized updates for the “Volume 5 – Edits and Rejects” portion of its multi-volume resource that consolidates FAFSA-related processing information and guidance. FSA also noted that the current 2024-25 ISIR record layout is the final version and is ready for development and testing purposes, but noted that “minor” edits to the 2024-25 ISIR record layout field values may occur in the future.

NASFAA UPDATES AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

NASFAA's Dallas Martin Endowment (DME) was created to help cultivate the next generation of student aid advocates by supporting our annual summer policy intern program, as well as our award-winning Diversity Leadership Program. Federal Student Aid (FSA) released a tutorial video series on several topics about FAFSA simplification, including emergency financial assistance, reporting Federal-Work Study (FWS), campus-based aid in COD, and more. Aid offices can access the video series on the FSA training website. Additionally, those holding the FAAC® designation can earn one recertification point (RP) for every FSA webinar and training video on FAFSA simplification viewed, including each topic in the microlearning video series.
