This week on a special episode of “Off The Cuff,” Justin is joined by Andy Brantley, president and CEO at College & University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR), to discuss findings from the latest iteration of their higher education employee retention survey. The results of the survey found concerning trends related to the financial aid profession’s retention rates, where a majority of financial aid professionals say they’re at least somewhat likely to look for other employment within a year.

Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-La.), ranking member of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee, in a panel discussion on Wednesday, outlined his higher education priorities with an update on key Republican legislation that seeks to lower the rising costs of higher education, protect borrowers from growing student loan debt, and rein in the executive branch’s efforts to overhaul the student aid system without congressional approval.

NASFAA is looking for volunteers to join its Career Path Awareness for Financial Aid Administrators Thought Force. The thought force is charged with thinking broadly about how to attract individuals into the financial aid profession. The group will create a comprehensive report detailing the current landscape of the financial aid administrator role, including awareness levels, perception challenges, and potential target demographics.
