NEWS FROM NASFAA

Congressional Republicans on Tuesday introduced companion Congressional Review Act (CRA) resolutions to overturn the Biden administration’s new income-driven repayment plan, the Saving on Valuable Education (SAVE) plan.

As incarcerated students again become eligible to receive federal financial aid like Pell Grants — after a nearly 30-year federal ban — the financial aid and prison education communities must come together to ensure they are prepared to support these students. To that end, NASFAA, with generous grant funding from Ascendium Education Group, has created a Prison Education Program Web Center to house tools, training, and news related to the implementation of financial aid in carceral settings. The web center will be updated regularly, so be sure to check back for new resources.

Huff Golden Quill Award, which is given to an individual or individuals chosen for their contributions to the literature on student financial aid.
