A group of House Republicans on Thursday unveiled a new piece of legislation and proposed their alternative framework to President Joe Biden’s efforts to overhaul the student loan portfolio.

NASFAA is pleased to release version 6.0 of its Student Aid Index (SAI) Modeling Tool. The updated version corrects several issues, including total income calculation for applicants and parents with tax completion status of “will file,” calculation of payroll tax allowances across dependency statuses, and employment allowance calculation. NASFAA recommends institutions re-run their student data in the latest version to have the most accurate estimates of Pell Grant eligibility and SAI.
