This week on “Off the Cuff,” Hugh and Jill discuss the latest news surrounding the Saving on a Valuable Education (SAVE) repayment plan, and income-driven repayment (IDR) plans in general. Jill kicks things off with a background discussion on how the SAVE plan came to be through the negotiated rulemaking process and then catches listeners up on the legal challenges that have threatened the program.

Federal Student Aid (FSA) on Tuesday announced via electronic announcement the availability of a 2025-26 Institutional Student Information Record (ISIR) test data file to use for testing by institutions, state agencies, software providers, and other agencies and entities. FSA noted that more information on 2025-26 ISIR changes and ISIR record layout are available on the 2025-26 FAFSA Specifications Guide, Volume 4A.
