Quincy, MA July 20, 2009 -- As part of a larger effort to achieve its mission to "Better Educate the World", the Student Loan Network, an Edvisors Company, has committed to give away more than $100,000 in scholarships and awards in 2009. Previously offered in
2008 and March 2009, the program was expanded due to overwhelming demand and is now awarding $10,000 scholarships every six months.
Applications are now being accepted through July 31, 2009 for the second of two $10,000 scholarships to be awarded this year.
"In this economy, students, parents, and families need every possible resource available to make college affordable," says Joe Cronin, CEO of Edvisors and the Student Loan Network, "Our $10,000 scholarship can make a significant impact in the cost of college. We wanted to make it simple -- the application is incredibly fast and easy to complete."
The various scholarship programs, administered through the innovative Scholarship Points program (www.ScholarshipPoints.com) are designed to provide last minute funding to students directly through their school's financial aid office. The Scholarship Points program awarded $25,000 in scholarship funds to help support students in 2008.
Today, 384,000 students are part of the Scholarship Points membership rewards program. As part of this program, free of charge, students earn Points each month by participating in surveys and other online activities. Accrued points can be exchanged for entries into that month's scholarship drawing. The program is open to graduating high school students and current college students.
