Hans Zeigler Named SmartCFO

Regent's CFO selected as one of twelve top CFO's in the Greater Baltimore area

Frederick, MD, April 20, 2009 - Regent Education, the leading provider of financial aid management Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions for higher education institutions, today announced that Hans Zeigler, its Chief Financial Officer, was named SmartCFO by SmartCEO Magazine.

SmartCEO honored the top CFOs in Greater Baltimore whose companies are prospering, in part, because of the innovative projects and processes the CFOs have implemented during their tenure. A wide range of industries were represented, including: retail, construction, education, architecture, and technology. Each winner was asked a variety of questions relating to their work and company.

"Hans is extremely deserving of the title of SmartCFO. He is my right hand in the everyday running of the company," said Michael Ratti, Regent's CEO. "His ability to steer me in the right direction for what is best for the shareholders and Regent as a whole is critical and allows me to focus on what needs to be done for Regent."

According to SmartCEO Magazine, "The role of a successful chief financial officer goes far beyond finance and numbers. While finance is the main area a CFO oversees, the CFOs profiled -- are effective managers, visionaries and trusted advisors to the CEO and executive management team."

When asked by SmartCEO Magazine about his proudest moment as Regent's CFO, Hans responded, "In September of 2008, Regent Education closed on a round of venture capital funding that is enabling the company to finish our mission of becoming the uncontested category leader in financial aid management solutions for higher education. In a year where the economy was faltering and funding sources were tightening dramatically, we were able to convey the strength and conviction of our management team, the unparalleled innovation of our product, and the integrity of our overall business strategy. I am particularly proud of this fund raising accomplishment and look forward to helping our team finish our mission."
