NHHEAF Raffle Awards Two More Students with $1,000 Scholarships

Concord, NH -- Two $1,000 college scholarships were recently awarded to New Hampshire students from the Take it to the Bank Scholarship Giveaway sponsored by the NHHEAF Network Organizations. New Hampshire college students are encouraged to enter by visiting www.nhstudentloans.org. Students can enter to win once each month.

Stephanie Pelletier, graduate of Spaulding High School and resident of Rochester, NH was the May scholarship winner. Stephanie, currently attending the University of New England, will be entering her sophomore year and aspires to be an occupational therapist. "Occupational therapy is perfect for me. I love science and I always wanted to have a job helping people." Stephanie is also manager of the hockey team. She gives credit to her mother for influencing her to pursue scholarship opportunities such as this, "My mom has been keeping me on track with scholarships -- I owe this one to her."

"NHHELCO's goal is to assist students in achieving their higher education aspirations by offering them essential support through advice and affordable funding options," stated Tara Payne, Vice President of Corporate Communications at the Organizations. "The Take it to the Bank Scholarship is another way we can direct funds to help alleviate the financial burden of a college education."

The June winner was Michael Leriche, a recent graduate from Milford High School. He is heading to UNH-Manchester where he plans to study Humanities. It was his mom who encouraged him to enter the Take it to the Bank Scholarship Giveaway. "She has helped me through the whole process. I feel really lucky." Michael doesn't have a career plan mapped out just yet. He has lots of interests. But he knows his strengths and plans to pursue an academic career full of writing, public speaking, history, performance and culture. Michael is an acoustic guitarist. His love of music is matched only by his colorful personality and colorful aquamarine Mohawk.
