ECMC Foundation proudly celebrates the graduation of 170 public high school students as ECMC
Scholars.
The ECMC Scholars Program operates independently in both Oregon and Virginia in partnership with the
Oregon and Virginia Departments of Education.
A scholarship of $4,000 toward the first year of college is awarded to each ECMC Scholar, with
eligibility for an additional $2,000 the following year. ECMC Foundation has pledged $6.06 million to
this program to date.
Teachers, guidance counselors and other educators choose scholarship candidates during their sophomore
year of high school, challenging them to reach their potential and better prepare for college. Candidates
are chosen on the basis of whom will best benefit from additional mentoring and early support for the
college preparation process during their junior and senior years.
"We are delighted to reward the diligent efforts of this year's class of ECMC Scholars and we are
honored to support their commitment to their pursuit of higher education," said March Kessler, Executive
Director of ECMC Foundation.
