RESTON, Va. - The College Board announced today that Nebraska Methodist College has implemented Net Partner, the web student portal companion to PowerFAIDS, the comprehensive financial aid system used by more than 550 institutions.
Net Partner is a self-service Web solution that allows students and professionals at PowerFAIDS client schools to stay connected 24/7, every day of the year. Net Partner enables students to complete applications and accept and decline financial aid awards online, eliminating paper award letters and all their accompanying costs. PowerFAIDS, first developed by the College Board in 1996, automates the financial aid process for post secondary institutions. It manages record creation, electronic communications, student eligibility determination, federal grant management, packaging, loan origination, reporting and research. PowerFAIDS version 14.2 was released May 2009.
"Our nursing and allied health students typically have very heavy academic loads," said Brenda Boyd, director of financial aid at Nebraska Methodist College. "Time management is a critical issue with them. Real-time, 24/7 access simplifies the financial aid process and helps Nebraska Methodist College provide customer service anytime, day or night. This translates into our students concentrating on more important aspects so that they can achieve their goals for becoming the health care providers of tomorrow."
