The Department of Education's latest round of Webinar training will offer newly detailed guidance on recent changes made by the Higher Education Opportunity Act (HEOA).

In Electronic Announcements ANN-09-07 and 08 posted on April 20, 2009, ED announced it will be conducting additional on-line training related to Title IV program changes made by the HEOA. The two upcoming ED Webinar topics are:

• Changes to Pell Grant and TEACH Grant Programs; ECASLA Changes to ACG and National SMART Grant Programs and
• HEOA Changes to FFEL and Direct Loan Programs

NASFAA has been asked whether this new round of training is in addition to or merely a repeat of ED's earlier Webinars on similar topics conducted in February and March of this year. So, we asked ED to find out. According to ED, Webinar participants can expect new, more detailed program-specific guidance which expands upon that presented in the earlier sessions.

NASFAA and ED strongly encourage everyone to attend both upcoming ED Webinars.
