Mother and daughter earn degrees on the same day
ARLINGTON, VA (June 16, 2008) -- For Bernadine Atwell and her daughter Tammi Silva, receiving their degrees from DeVry University and Keller School of Graduate Management on the same day is a fulfillment of both their dreams.
"All the time Tammi was growing up, she always knew I wanted to earn my college degree and so when she suggested that she would go back to school to earn her Masters if I pursued by Bachelors, it just seemed like the perfect opportunity," said Bernadine.
Bernadine, who earned her Bachelors degree in Technical Management, and her daughter Tammi, graduating with a Masters of Business Administration, will join 201 number of graduates from DeVry and Keller at a commencement ceremony on Saturday, June 21 at 10:00 AM at the Crystal Gateway Marriott Arlington Ballroom, 1700 Jefferson Davis Highway in Arlington, VA.
The ceremony will begin with DeVry University President Loretta Franklin offering an official greeting followed by a brief speech by Keller graduate and DeVry alum Gilda Lavette Cisse. The keynote speaker will be Chuck Hansen, a noted author and humorist.
