Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee Chairman Edward Kennedy's (D-MA) head of education policy J.D. (Jean-Daniel) LaRock will be stepping down to return to Massachusetts.
LaRock, who took the lead on a variety of education issues including the Higher Education Act reauthorization and No Child Left Behind will be taking a position in the Massachusetts Secretary of Education's Office.
Erin Renner will replace LaRock in Kennedy's Washington office. Last year, Renner worked on the College Cost Reduction and Access Act as a HELP Committee staffer.
Renner was recently featured in a Washington Post article profiling young Congressional staffers.
