TG Names Donna G. Smith Director Of Center For Financial Aid Policy In Community Colleges

Round Rock, TX - Donna G. Smith, with 18 years experience in the student financial aid arena, has been named director of TG's Center for Financial Aid Policy in Community Colleges.

In her new role, Smith will facilitate the efforts of a TG advisory board of community college financial aid professionals formed to address education and policy issues especially relevant to two-year colleges. TG established the Center for Financial Aid Policy in Community Colleges to raise awareness among state and national policymakers about effective financial aid policies and practices relating to community colleges and their students.

Smith joins TG from Key Bank in Houston where she had served as an account executive for the educational loan division since 2005. From 2002-2005, she was director of financial aid and scholarships for the North Harris Montgomery Community College District. Smith also served as a financial aid advisor at Texas Woman's University's Houston campus from 2000-2002.

From 1990-1997, she was a financial aid counselor at the University of South Alabama, where she also earned bachelor's of arts and master's of education degrees. "Donna's experience and knowledge of the unique issues facing community colleges will be invaluable in her new position," said Kim Alexander, TG's vice president of customer focus. "She will work closely with the community college advisory board to develop workable strategies to advance the educational mission of two-year institutions."
