SLA Provides Private Student Loan Options To Meet Market Need For Objective And Focused Set Of Lenders

Palo Alto, California - August 25, 2008 - Student Lending Analytics is pleased to announce the release of their Private Student Loan Options to meet the urgent need for an objective and focused group of private student lenders. SLA developed these lender options based on an analysis of 2008-09 alternative loan lists at over 700 2-year and 4-year institutions and therefore reflects the collective decisions made by financial aid administrators across the country. The lenders provided as options were those most frequently cited on these alternative loan lists. SLA, an independent research and advisory firm, has NO affiliations with any student lenders. SLA HAS RECEIVED NO CONSIDERATION FROM ANY LENDERS FOR PLACEMENT ON THIS LIST NOR WILL SLA RECEIVE ANY REFERRAL FEES.

Students and parents should exhaust all federal grants and loans available to them before considering a private (alternative) loan. If available, borrowers should always review their school's preferred lender list for alternative loans. A school's preferred lender list entails a more rigorous and comprehensive evaluation process to find the best lenders for its students. SLA's Private Student Loan Options provides financial aid administrators, who do not post an alternative lender list, with an unbiased and focused resource for students and parents. According to a recent SLA flash survey, approximately 40% of schools do not currently provide a private lender list for their students. In tandem with the SLA Alternative Loan Guide, SLA's Private Student Loan Options provides borrowers with the tools to make the most informed decision regarding private loans.

Schools can directly access the SLA Private Student Loan Options using the following link: http://www.studentlendinganalytics.com/alternative_loan_options.html. Student Lending Analytics is providing this complimentary set of lender options to help students and parents find the best deals available in the turbulent market for alternative student loans
