Still Time To Register For NSLP's National Online Financial Literacy Symposium July 15-24

Nationally-recognized experts will share best practices in student financial literacy programs.

(July 14, 2008) - There's still time to register for the National Student Loan Program (NSLP) online Financial Literacy Symposium, which features a broad range of speakers who will provide practical information, tools, and resources that college leaders can use to develop or enhance student financial literacy programs on their campuses.

"We're vested in helping students succeed not only at higher education, but throughout their lives," says Randy Heesacker, president of NSLP. "Today's young adults need to understand how to manage money in order to be successful in their financial lives and achieve their dreams."

Symposium participants will learn best practices from successful programs, review the latest research about how critical managing finances is for student success, and hear practical ways to address the needs of unique student populations.

The symposium includes a series of five free, one-hour online webcasts July 15 through 24. Participants may register for any or all of the webcasts.

The symposium is appropriate for any campus leader who needs information about how important financial literacy is to the success of students. Leaders from financial aid, student services and counseling offices, as well as academic deans and vice presidents are encouraged to attend.

Symposium information and registration is available in the Default Prevention and Financial Literacy section of the NSLP Web site.
