Atlanta, June 30, 2008 - Financial Aid Services, Inc. (FAS) is pleased to announce the addition of Carmen Afghani to our team of consultants. Her 14 years of in-depth and varied financial aid experience will be a tremendous asset to our clients.

Prior to joining FAS, Ms. Afghani worked as Vice President of Campus Sales and Support for Nelnet. During her tenure she provided technical support to many colleges and universities in Florida and Georgia. She served as assistant director of financial aid at Stetson University, overseeing state programs, endowed scholarships, and the federal Pell Grant program. With her rich customer service background and her "hands on" experience with many colleges and universities, Ms. Afghani will bring a wealth of federal student aid knowledge to FAS clients all over the country.
Ms. Afghani has been active in professional associations, such as the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA), the Southern Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (SASFAA) and the Florida Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (FASFAA). In FASFAA, she held several elected and appointed offices. In addition, she has presented on numerous financial aid topics at various state conferences in the southeast.
You can meet Carmen at the NASFAA conference in Orlando. She will be attending with several of her FAS colleagues, including David Gray, President; Kathy Hill, Vice President; Gary Garoffolo; Associate Vice President for Interim Staffing; and Nancy Barnett, Director of Client Relations.
