Wachovia To Stop Writing Private Undergrad Student Loans (Dow Jones)
"Wachovia Corp. (WB) said on Tuesday that it has stopped accepting applications for private undergraduate student loans," Dow Jones reports. "The company said it will continue accepting applications for loans written under federal student loan programs. A spokeswoman for the company, Ferris Morrison, declined to say why Wachovia plans to stop writing the private loans."
