College Finance Chiefs Say Tuition Increases Will Keep Rising Faster Than Inflation (The Chronicle of Higher Education)
"Most college financial officers expect tuition increases to continue outpacing inflation, and many cite competing with other institutions to offer good amenities as an important contributing factor," The Chronicle of Higher Education reports. "The report, 'Finance Officers on Tuition, Student Debt, and Cost Cutting,' found that financial officers are spending increasing time thinking about facilities and infrastructure, sustainability, planning and forecasting, and investments and endowments. While 78 percent of respondents said they expected tuition increases to keep rising faster than inflation, they had differing opinions on how this would affect students at their institutions."
