New Jersey: Loan Bargains For College Students (The Record)
"Meeting the costs of a college education is a challenge for hundreds of thousands of New Jersey students and their families," writes Michael Angulo, executive director of the New Jersey Higher Education Student Assistance Authority, in The Record. "Where family resources, grants, scholarships and federal Stafford loans fall short, state or private supplemental loan financing can be a reasonable option. But recent media coverage has raised concerns about the availability of loans for college students and their families across the country. Thanks to the commitment of Governor Corzine and state Treasurer David Rousseau, the Higher Education Student Assistance Authority was able to overcome the tenuous credit market and raise capital to support the New Jersey College Loans to Assist State Students (NJCLASS) program."
