New UNR Program Makes College Affordable (Reno Gazette-Journal)
"Amid the gloom of high gas prices, poor home sales and rising unemployment, the University of Nevada, Reno has good news for students who think they can't afford to go to college," the Reno Gazette-Journal reports. "Students from low-income families can qualify to have the cost of their tuition, fees and books covered under UNR's new Pack Advantage program. The program provides students with about $5,000 to $6,000 a year to attend UNR for four years as long as they remain eligible to receive the needs-based Pell grant and maintain good academic standing."
